How to parent like you're a '70s disco queen – Page 2 – SheKnows

I know talking about sex and sexuality with your children can be a daunting task for many parents. However, initiating age-appropriate conversations early on can help them develop a healthy understanding of their bodies, relationships, and boundaries.

Here are some tips for getting started:

  1. Begin with simple, age-appropriate explanations of body parts and functions using correct terminology.

  1. Use everyday situations, such as watching TV or reading books, to spark discussions about relationships, consent, and boundaries.

  1. Encourage open communication by creating a safe, non-judgmental space for your child to ask questions and share their thoughts.

  1. Be prepared to address difficult topics, such as puberty, sexual orientation, and gender identity, with sensitivity and understanding.

  1. Seek out reliable resources and consult experts if you're unsure how to approach certain topics or answer your child's questions.

By starting conversations about sexuality early and maintaining open communication, you can help your child develop a healthy foundation for understanding their own sexuality and navigating relationships.

Why do I charge for this call? A few reasons: I want to make sure people are serious; charging reduces the calls just to ask one sex question; people get a lot of value from the discovery call process as well.
